Region III Teams Advance to 2017 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup

TULSA, Okla. (June 18, 2017) — US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup champions, crowned Sunday in Tulsa. The winning teams in the 13U through 17/18U Boys and Girls age groups advance to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 12-16 in Auburndale, Fla. 

After several exciting finals on Sunday, Arkansas, North Carolina, Texas North and Texas South each came away with two Region III Presidents Cup titles. Tennessee and Florida claimed one title apiece.

Finals Recap:

13U Boys
McAllen Rayados 04 (TX-S) beat Alianza Gold 04 (GA) 2-1 today to close out a successful Presidents Cup tournament. McAllen Rayados found the back of the net fifteen times in only five games.

13U Girls
Arkansas Comets 04 Navy (AR) and 04 Bulls Elite (SC) fought to the finish, but Arkansas Comets 04 Navy came away with the 1-0 win and Carson Wasemiller scored the winning goal in the 21st minute.

14U Boys
MST United Stars (FL) overcame KSA 14 2003 (TX-S) 5-0 today. The MST Stars had a very impressive tournament. In five games, they scored eighteen goals and were not scored on a single time.

14U Girls
Solar Chelsea Wells (TX-N) defeated 03 ACS Orange (NC) 1-0 in a close matchup to win the Region III Presidents Cup. Solar Chelsea Wells scored thirteen goals throughout the tournament and never allowed a goal against them.

15U Boys
RGV FC Dallas 02 (TX-S) beat CFA Pachuca United (SC), 4-0. For RGV FC Dallas 02, Leonardo Torres had a hat trick for his team. Scoring in the 31st, 51st and 62nd minutes.

15U Girls
Arkansas Rush 02/03 Black (AR) and NTX Celtic 02 McCallum (TX-N) both had a great Presidents Cup tournament, but Arkansas Rush 02/03 came out on top, 2-0. Arkansas Rush 02/03 Black scored fifteen goals in the tournament, and they were only scored on one time.

16U Boys
In a Texas matchup, the Dallas Texans 01 Red (TX-N) defeated the PDN Rush Sharks 2001 (TX-S) 1-0 for the Presidents Cup title. With that win, the Dallas Texans 01 Red will advance on to the National Presidents Cup, held in Auburndale, Fla. From July 12-16.

16U Girls
In a close matchup, FC Dallas TRI 01 Premier (TN) beat TSC01Williams (OK), 2-1. Emma Arnold scored both goals for FC Dallas TRI 01 Premier. Arnold's goals came in the 43rd and 85th minutes. 

17/18U Boys
In a very close game, 00 CASL White North (NC) beat the Superior Aztecas 00 (TX-N), 1-0. Each of these teams played down to the wire, and had a very successful run in the Region III Presidents Cup.

17/18U Girls
00 CASL Ladies Black G (NC) overcame OFC00 White (OK) 3-0 to close out the Region III Presidents Cup. 00 CASL Ladies Black scored fourteen times in the tournament, and with a strong defensive presence, they did not give up a single goal

Oklahoma Youth Soccer Association hosted the Region III Presidents Cup, and the other 11 State Associations represented included Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Texas, Tennessee and North Texas.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play for a national title against teams of similar abilities. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
